Did it have to be that tight?

Do you guys remember on the movie Zoolander when Hanzel and Derrick were trying to get into the computer to retrieve the files by banging on it? Well that was me trying to get into my new paintpots. Lawd have mercy did I struggle! I even tried wrapping a rubber band around it to see if I could get some traction. With no superman to come to my rescue, I finally ended up holding it under some hot water for a while until I could open it.
Could you imagine me going outside to ask some random dude "hey wouldja open my makeup please"
So today's lil black box had Nice Vice, Girl Friendly, and Strawbaby in it.

Maybe the her big sister will give her a hair transplant. There is more than enough over here! It's funny that she has never done anything like that at all.

I did the exact same thing to my mother, but I cut a whole plait out and then stuck it back in my hair when I realized what I had done. When my mother came to do my hair the plait just fell into her hand. I think I did get my ass whipped for that tho. :O

Whoa Nelly!

I just checked MAC to get a picture of the lip conditioner and of course I had to take a click stroll over to the fafi section and Nice Vice is sold out! OMG I am so glad I placed my order when I did. I was nervous because to me it took more time to process but I got my confirmation email yesterday and I should have it on Monday! Yey! Also the scarf is sold out too so I'm glad I got mine. Ok on to the purpose of this post. :)

My Review: 5 out of 5
I actually think it is making a difference! Since this past Wednesday I have been using it as my lip balm/conditioner and my lips have not been as flaky....I would say a good 80% better at least. It feel like it really sinks down into the lips instead sitting on top like Crisco waiting to roll off when you tilt your head LOL! I was reluctant to pay $13 for something like this especially when I know they have it at the CCO's for cheaper but since I was there I decided to get it one time. It comes in a tube and stick form as well so if you hate digging your hands in stuff the other options would be right up your alley. With this I may actually be able to get into lippies now!

Fafi Squeeze It Look!

Howdy from me and munchins! I was still feeling a bit horse but I decided to knock out a video anyway using the fafi before it becomes old and stale! LOL! I really like the colors on my skin tone but i don't feel that it is doing some of my darker skinned sisters any justice at tal! Maybe individually some colors would work, but trying to make those random colors look nice together is a challenge.

Drama In the First Grade Maybe

After getting my Fafi stuff yesterday I was so gitty and festive feeling that I went to the hallmark store and got some Dora cards for the girls to pass out for Valentines. Now this is the first year that I have done this because I just never really thought of it as a holiday for the munckins even though I remember those lil cards when I was child. Anywhoo I ask Madisyn to bring me a list of the children in her class (I know bad momma that I don't know this already) So Madisyn brings me the list and it only has girls on it so I asked Madisyn you don't want to give the boys any and she was like I don't think they want Dora cards. Well honey I wasn't about to go back out in the cold for some damn Transformer cards for the boys. I hope I haven't caused any tension and drama in the First Grade!
Now Brooklyn happily filled out her cards for the boys and girls with no thought of Dora being to girlie for the boys. I guess Pre K boys still want to go exploring with Dora and Boots! LOL ! What I difference two years make.

Fafi Day!!!!!

So today was Fafi day at last for me. I have gone up and down as far as loving it and hating it and at the end I think I love it! The only thing is that because I wasn't as enthasatic about it in the beginning of the hype I didn't really save for it like I should have but... oh well... oodles of noodles for me for a while LOL!!!
The only thing I wanted the whole time was the lipglass Sugar Trance and for me that is still the highlight. I absolutely love that color and my MA Erin paired it with hodgepodge liner.....can we say gorgeous! Here are all the Fafi items I got:

Buyers remorse is a bitch! Not so innocent reminded me too much of glity kiss that I have already but I wanted at least one lipstick.

Other none limited edition items I got was Brown Down eyeshadow, Untitled paint, lip conditioner in the pot (non tinted) and the hodgepodge liner.


Here is the swatch of Brown Down Seymone! The top is with UDPP and the bottom is without.
I think it makes a perfect transitional brown color. This is only conceler with bruile on top and the brown down in the crease. I had already done the brows with the maple brow shader and highlight color.Be back in a lil bit I'm trying to get another lock video done and a kind of haul video uploaded. <3

1- Shawnta, I swear, go out and get a Shu or Shiseido eyelash curler!! I thought I'd be okay with my Revlon, but it was terrible. I swear that you will never turn back to cheap eyelash curlers after buying one of them! They're about $12-$15 and worth every penny. :D

2 - I'm lazy when it comes to lips. You are totally right - I see no point in layering pink over pink!

Confessions of a Newbie

As a newbie to the whole makeup thing there are some routines, products, etc that I just can't get no matter how hard I try. Then there are the mistakes that I make on a regular just cause. Perhaps you "Pros" will get a laugh and other newbies will be nodding in the background. :D


#1 Eyelash Curler
Now granted I have the cheapy ELF eyelash curler that is only a $1 but for some reason I had the feeling that I was going to be a spaz at it and didn't want to shell out a bunch of money on something that is only going to collect dust. Whenever I try to use it I get crunchy lashes that look sooooooo short. I really want this to work because my right eye gets enough of a curl with mascara alone, but the left......almost stick straight. HELP!!!!! Knowing me I'm probably doing it all wrong :P

#2 An equally pigmented lipgloss over a lipstick.
On this one I feel like MAC is pimping us to use up more product than necessary. I can understand if the boyfriend picked out this fugly color for you and your trying to make it work by changing the tone with the gloss, but by looking at people tuts and FOTD it's damn near mandatory. Now I do put gloss over top of my lipsticks on occasion but it's always clear. If I want shiny then I only put on gloss, if I want pigmented color than I put on lipstick. If I want a brown lipstick then thats what I will buy, not a pink lipstick that I make brown with chestnut liner and Oh Baby lipgloss. Can somebody explain in a nice way please why go through all those damn steps when the lipstick or the gloss could stand on it's own? Your going to eat/talk it off anyway! Does it make it last longer or is it just what we do because we saw or had the MA do that to us?

#3 Poking myself in the eye with mascara wand, eye pencil, false eyelashes, etc and other eye mishaps.
Like the time I mistaken my toner for Clinques Take Off the Day. Took a nice big swish across the eye with the cotton ball.......can you say BURN!!!!!

#4 Uneven crease shading
I think one of my eyes belongs to someone else :D I feel like I am doing things exactly the same on both but one crease shade is always either higher or lower then it's partner.
AND my eyebrows are not sisters like MrsLynne talked about in a previous post on her blog. Mine are the distant cousins who never get along at the funerals, weddings, and family reunions.

#5 Digging in your shadows when trying to open them.
GRRRR! I hate that!

#6 Sometimes I scare the shit out of my children
Yeah it's been many a day were a look just doesn't go over well with the young divas. Mask day is always fun because I use the Queen Helene Mint Julep mask which is a lovely shade of bright green, and usually get a jump out of them because they never know when I'm going to do it. I've also answered the door like this too. I have no shame. You better call before you come! :D

#7 Really really really light highlight colors under brows
Now on my chocolate sisters it makes me think of black barbie dolls especially when it is very precise, which I feel they look kinda glamorous, but on me I feel like BoBo the clown. I'm slowly easing into it with my NYX Vanilla Sky or Her ladyship pigment, but I'm seriously wadding in the toddler pool on that one :D

Henna on myself!

Always the restless artist I'm feeling like doing something drastic to myself...maybe a tattoo.....maybe a piercing.....I dunno.... A mid twenty life crisis maybe? LOL!
So I decided to get back into henna. I tried it a long time ago but didn't wait the proper time for the dye to release before applying so it did not show up at all. This time I did some research and picked up a lot of nice techniques from the net. Here is a free hand design I did. I didn't really have a proper cone applicator, just found some random piece of plastic, and I was lazy and did not sift the henna powder I got which only cost about 3 bucks for this big ole bag at a indian grocery store I went to. I am intrigued about purchasing some real deal preshifted stuff from some of the henna sites I found, because they say that stuff that sits on a store shelf isn't kept properly to get a good stain. Anywhoo here all the results:
