Its seems that many people don't understand what locs are. I got comments like 'your real hair is nice'
Ummm my locs was my 'real' hair, not extentions.
'If your hair looks like that, why did you get those things in the first place?'
Ummmmm cause.........damnit why am I trying to explain myself to you anyway!
My all time favorite:'so when are you going to do something to your hair?'
Wow so the hours I just spent washing and deep conditioning mean nothing, not until I've permed it, straightened it, or curled it!
Anywoo thanks for all the kind comments about the hair and the tattoo. I will do a seprate post on the tattoo and also the taken down process with the locs.

now not coming from a place of ignorance, cuz if you want to experience your hair down after so many years of locs by all means, but are you itching to try out some of the natural styles that we see out here, twist ups, knots, etc?

I'm looking forward to the post on combing out your locs. I've watched your makeup tuts on youtube and was shocked (well not really, lol) when I just saw a pic of you with your hair out. I've had locs for the pass 8 years and started combing them out in mid April. It's been a slow and tedious process (I've only taken out a few rows in the back so far). Thanks for the added inspiration!!!

I'm still amazed when I get comments from my own people asking "is that all YOUR actual hair." It's crazy because at some point in time my personal loc journey somewhat becomes other ppl's. They are more attached to my hair than I can be. Probably because that's how people seem to identify me and without them they aren't sure who I am anymore. *Shrug*...it's just hair ppl...not a constant.
Oh I can relate!!! You gotta hit them with that faux militant nappy routine. You know the one that starts with, "OH, now I have to DO SOMETHING with my hair to somehow conform to your misguided sense of beauty based on Eurocentric standards..."
Shuts them down every time. :) Practice it. LOL
I'm missing my loose hair days...
Wow....let's you know how they really feel and how some people see your hair change as a life and mental change as if taking down your locs means you've separated yourself from a part of consciousness...
