Curls

So I put some roller in some rollers last night. BRACE YOURSELVES!!

AHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGHHGHHHHH

Then Brooklyn had to get in on the action!
Close up of the rollers which are Soft Spike Curlers
The results this morning

After some eyeliner, mascara, Jane Blush in Blushing Petal and MAC Poise
At the end of the day they fell something terrible though. I think I may try a lock mohawk tomorrow.
Brooklyn asked me if I was going to keep my hair like this, and I asked her why she asked and she said that she doesn't like it because my hair doesn't look long anymore. LOL I have had these curlers I know for at least a year and this is only the second time I have used them.

FOTD

I don't know why but I love orange and blue together. After I came home from work this evening I just played around with the combanation to see if it would be worth while to do a whole video on. I didn't really "do" it up since A) I already had eyeliner and mascara on from earlier and B)I'm tired as hell right now LOL! What do you think of the concept?

CVS Haul #1

Are you getting tired of me yet!!!! :)

Playful & Reckless

Milani Quad in Dominos, Blistex DCT, and a wet and wild liquid liner (which is what I have on in the other pictures... just liner and mascara) This is my first liquid liner and I am loving it except that it got in my lashes and in turn got all on my lid which would not have been cute if I had applied eyeshadow today.

Duo End brushes from Essence of Beauty

The eye brow brush had an angle to it but I decided to cut it and make it flat to try it out like Christiana did in her eyeliner tut. It seemed like a very firm brush so I think it will turn out well.
Alright chicas I'm off to another CVS!

What do you think of Poise

So I finally go Mac Mattene Poise and Composure from the ebay seller. I want your opinion if it is a friendly color for me. : )
I'm gonna wear it out to CVS just now for my second haul!

No Hair Pin Bun

Texture Shot for ya!

The No Pins Hairstyle
Can you believe this style was done without a single hair pin!
I got this idea from Bajanempress on Nappturality.

The List

I tried to complete this list as fast as possible so that it would be just the first thing that came to my mind.

I am not: going to have anymore pity parties with myself

I hurt: often. I'm a sensitive cancer girl what can I say

I love: to love, just haven't found the man worthy of it

I hate: what I have allowed people to do to me.

I hope: to grow into this dynamic woman I know I'm suppose to be

I hear: children playing

I regret: putting all my cards down first

I cry: a lot but its getting better

I care: too much

I always: over analyze everything

I long to: travel

I feel alone: all the time

I listen: to Steve wonder several times a week

I hide: my true feelings to keep the peace

I drive: like a mad woman with road rage : ) My four year old told my dad on me!

I sing: everything all the time. I'm that girl singing in her car, the supermarket, everywhere.

I dance: by myself all the time. It's my outlet

I breathe: sometimes. I really do find myself holding my breath a lot. Not good people.

I play: too much. It's so much easier than being serious

I miss: 70+ degree weather

I say: Nothing. What's the point, people only hear what they want to hear anyway.

I feel: like I want to scream

I succeed: everyday I close my eyes at the end of the day knowing I have done what I could in the time given me

I fail: when I don't trust myself

I dream: All the time

I sleep: whenever I can. I don't get enough sleep

I want: to say what the fuck I really feel and not have to worry about the repercussions

I worry: too damn much

I have: two beautiful girls

I give: too much in the beginning and then feel hurt when it is not returned.

I fight: with myself too much. I'm my own worse enemy sometimes.

I wait: and wait and wait and wait until I wonder is it worth waiting for?

I am: growing everyday

I think: to much about other people and their feelings. Consider yourself first

I can't: keep doing what I have been doing. Y'all might see me on the news fo real

I stay: in prayer

9 Things I would Tell My Younger Self

I saw this post on several blogs and I thought it was a really cool way to look back and reflect on what you have accomplished in the past ten years.

10 years ago would make me 16 which was around the time that my life really took some twists and turns so here is what I would say to myself knowing what I know now:

  1. You need to prepare yourself to lose your mother. I know you two do not see eye to eye and you feel like see doesn't understand you , but she loves you more then she ever let on and if you don't take this opportunity to get to know her as a human being and not as "mom" now you will regret it for the rest of your life. She is a strong woman that just never let you know about her struggles and her trauma and you are acting like an ass for only seeing things your way, and being angry that she is sick.
  2. You need to grieve. Not crying does not mean you are strong. You will make up for not shedding those tears later.
  3. You should have stayed in art school. You will not do anything different by going to Western that you could not have done by staying at School for the Arts, in fact you will be very lonely because you will never develop another friend base like you had there.
  4. Don't alienate yourself from your family because they don't agree with your lifestyle. Be humble, listen to what they have to say, and always respect them. You will not like the label of "the difficult one" later.
  5. Don't try to make an instant family because you feel like you have lost yours now that your mother is gone. Yeah he is a nice person and has a good heart but all the best intentions in the world can't put food in babies mouths. And no matter how good a woman you are you can not motivate a man to be more than what he feels he can do in his heart.
  6. Trust yourself more. You have good instincts but you doubt yourself too much.
  7. You can't make some one love you by being overly nice and accommodating of bullshit. Eventually you will snap and look like a two headed monster because girl you do have a temper.
  8. COMMUNICATE!!!!!!!! If they can't handle what you really feel….FUCK EM. You are too good for the stress that some people put you through because you are trying not to rock the boat.
  9. You can do anything you put your mind to. Don't limit yourself with defeating talk. Just stay positive and doors will open. The creator is always with you. You will go through things that in that moment you think you might not live, but you do and you need to think the creator everyday for giving you the opportunity to live up to your purpose and divinity.

I could really go on and on with this one actually. I think I might put this in my handwritten journal.

More to come chicas <3

What Makeup I couldn’t do without!

Ms Lynne at MakeupFix asked what would you keep if you had to get rid of most of your makeup. Honestly at this point I only feel that eyeliner, mascara, and lip balm or the only necessities, everything else is just icing and sprinkles : ) I get so many compliments when all I do is eyeliner and mascara, on the other hand when I pull together a whole look with nice colors I get more of the shocked at a black woman wearing makeup with locks and it's something other than brown,*gasp* COLOR, then followed by the ohhhh it looks nice after the fact.

So with the makeup it is almost like a collection, and I feel so happy when I get another "acquisition". I have the same kind of go out and conquer everything approach to anything I love. Like books for example. I'm not satisfied with buying just one book on a subject I have to try to get all the recommended "if you like this you might like that " books even though I haven't read the first one to know if I like it or not LOL

My Top Products

Skincare- Olive oil and Castor oil for the OCM (in case you couldn't guess, it is still doing wonders for my skin)

Foundation- Buff'd hands down for now but I heard some good things about Dreamworld's so we shall see

Bases- UDPP

Eyeshadow- I guess my all time favorite eye shadow would have to be MAC's falling star, it's such a pretty copper/rust I could wear it everyday! I usually pair it up with MAC's Corn Shadestick

Mascara- Anything from L'oreal (I am liking that Cover girl lash blast a lil more though but not enough to knock Voluminous or telescopic of their pedestal)

Lipstick- Nada right now as I haven't got my lips together yet

Lip Balm-I just got Blistex DCT yesterday in a CVS Haul (more about that later) and it milder than the carmex or blistex medex and it seems to be doing pretty good but I haven't tried it undere a lippy yet

Lipliner- really don't use it much so I can go without

Brushes- well I can't live without my coastal scents facial brush ! For makeup my everyday minerals flat top brush is the bomb.

Alright ladies I got some more posts to crank out <3

Just Saying HEY!!!!

yeah.... no makeup, no pictures just hey. The should have smileys on here. If they did mine would be that lil smiley face guy that waves. I tried to find him on a forum to see if I could copying him but alas I did not see him. The one I like has legs and arms.
He's not quite what I had in mind but he'll do. <3

What's In the Bag!

I was tagged by Yummy to give up the goods on what's in the purse. Now today was a pretty boring day....it can get worse.

Let's see we have a wallet, a bank receipt on top of that, vanilla chapstick, Bistex medex lip balm, Rosebud Strawberry lip balm ( can you tell I get a problem with chapped lips :D ) I love pens so I have four. One of Brooklyn's gloves which is not too bad because sometimes there will be a sock instead (don't ask) my keys, my blackjack phone, some dinero, that animal print thing is a mini manicure set with two pairs of clippers, small scissors and tweezers inside, a post office receipt, and my motorola phone (I have no idea what kind it is, I mainly keep it around for the VZ Navigation)
The bag usually gets worse as the week goes on so this is very tame. By the end of the week there would be the Ipod, a book, some makeup I was trying to get on in a hurry, and just maybe a sock :D
Everybody else I know has been tagged so I will tag Christiana!

So I made a video.......

and it's pretty bad actually. I was so nervous I forgot the mascara! Can you believe that! Madisyn had a good time though as you will see. I don't think I will load this one up to youtube since it has so many errors but I will let my blog sisters see it. I have to work on getting the proper mirror/camera angle and having everything I need in one place before shooting. My makeup is everywhere!!!!!

video

Later: I ended up putting it on youtube too cause blogger was taking forever to load. Hope you enjoy my attempt. I promise they will get better ;)

Neutral Brown

Smochies!

Eyes

UDPP
NYX Mink Brown on inner half of lid
NYX Deep Bronze on out half of lid
MAC Showstopper in outer v and crease
NYX Vanilla Sky under brow bone
Blacktrack Fluidline on upper and lower lash line
Cover Girl Lash Blast
MAC Maple Brow Shader

Lips

NYX Frappucino

So of course after about 30 minutes my lips were total ickville. Flakes galore and all the color seemed to move to the flakes :O I think i need to invest in that MAC lip conditioner because nothing I'm doing right now seems to be working. I have the Chapstick overnight treatment, Blistex medex, Carmex, regular chapstick, both Smiths lip balm(the strawberry and the original salve) etc etc, but I haven't found THE product that keeps my lips from flaking. I get only a temporary fix(like maybe an half an hour) or I can still feel the crust under the balm *shudders*
This morning I even did a sugar scrub and used a wet toothbrush on them, but still flakes, flakes, flakes! I will probably have a few review post as I try to find the right conditioner.
Well night ladies, enjoy your Sunday.

The thanks for humoring me look

yup im a fool. I got some better shots of the mu at home so I will post those later chicas. Enjoy your Saturday for me please !!!

Am I the only blind one....

That has to type the word verification thingys a couple of times LOL!

I'm thinking about a copperish look tomorrow. I'm thinking that I need something to write about on here. I thinking I would like to do a video but on what.....everything seems like it has already been done. I'm thinking that I hate having to work Saturday and Monday. I'm thinking that maybe I should just take my butt to bed <3

Blackground is no Sharkskin!

Panacea81 is one of my fav youtube gurus and she always uses MAC's Sharkskin shadestick to make her colors pop. Well I don't have Sharkskin but I have MAC Blackground paintpot so I decided to give it a whirl with the new purples I got from Milani and a purple in a NYX trio. Unfortunately I feel that the Blackground made things look more dead and dull instead of on and poppin!

The Colors I used
(The three colors to the left)

What I Used

Face
Nothing since I was just playing around :)

Eyes
MAC Blackground paintpot on entire lid and crease
Prune of the NYX trio on inner half of lid
Milani Shock on outer half of lid and lower lashline
Milani Icy Plum in crease
No name pinkish cream highlight color under brow bone
MAC Blacktract upper and lower lash line
Covergirl Lash Blast

Lips
Silk Naturals Birthday Suit

It probably isn't that far off color wise but I was expecting more pop than what I got. I would reserve the blackground "smoky eye" looks only.

Makeupsquare had a nice video on blending and I love her eye look she has on for the video.
Check it out!

For Lynne!

HA! HA! HA!
Madisyn said I look like I am being kidnapped! What does a six year old know about kidnapped? Too CNN watching for her!
Still in love with the OCM. I have not used any soap on my face in almost a week now! I learned today that the thicker the cloth, the better steaming effect. Also remember me talking about having a hard time removing my eye makeup? Well no more! I leave my eyes for last and gently massage the eyeliner/mascara off. No more lost lashes and no more expensive Clinique Take Off The Day.
I promise to get back in the swing of things with FOTD's, work has just been so crazy, I really wanted to quit today because it was feeling like too much pressure. Thank God for my mid week day off!

I'm running out of titles :D

Yeah I don't know what to call this one. It's a hair post and a skin post so yeah it's a mambo combo. First of all I would like to give a big Aloha to Lynne for doing a wonderful post on the oil cleansing method! Great job girl! I have really been researching this method to see all the positive and negative experiences. I once suffered with very congested dehydrated skin with a hella lot of pimples on my forehead and nose, but dryness in the forehead and cheeks. Don't believe me?

This was just this past summer.
This morning.

I never was very consistent with my skin routine, wasn't really drinking my water, and didn't moisturize at all. My best friend told me one day " I'm tired of your skin looking like that" (This is the same friend that said WoW after the olive oil cleanse). I'm always on youtube and I saw this video where a girl recommended a cleanser and a toner with 2% salicylic acid and nadinola fade cream. So I use that twice a day for the past 4 months and I have gotten to where you have seen my skin, but I can't use this method forever. I haven't seen any change in my skin tone or color however I still feel that my skin is lacking something. From this routine the two things that I feel has really helped my skin is probably the consistency and the moisture. I have all of this stuff from Garden of Wisdom and my Northwest Orca Soap samples but now since doing the oil cleanse I almost don't feel like I need anything else. It has been recommended that you wash your face after doing an oil cleanse but my face feels so good and toned I don't feel like I need to do anything else but follow with a little bit of oil and water for moisture. It's is so funny because I was just lamenting to Christiana how I feel like I need to wash my face with soap twice a day, and here I go not sure of what I'm going do with all this soap I got! :D I'm still trying to figure it out. This morning I used olive oil only, with good results and I planned on doing the castor oil and olive oil this evening.
Possible routine:
AM
Spray face with distilled water and message with face brush or wash cloth
Pinapple Fruit Mist
Immortalle HA or Honey HA serum mixed with distilled water and camellia oil
Lil bit of base cream

PM
Olive Oil/Castor Oil cleanse
On days whenI want to ex foliate (maybe 2 times a week) I would probably use the rest of my Muriad Papaya Enzyme mask and possible replace those with either the Fruit Exfo Pads or the Northwest Orca Papaya mask
Pinapple Fruit Mist
Immortalle HA or Honey HA serum mixed with distilled water and camellia oil
Lil bit of base cream

Still working it out though. Hey Christiana do you see any place where I can put the Takrai Lemongrass Cleanser in this routine? Oh how I love the smell of that stuff! I want to try to intigrate everything slowly though it is very hard for me to contain my excitement for this new routine.

Alright enough about the skin.....now the hair.My only piece of loc jewelry...it's really a ear cuff. Well I have other regular loc jewelry but this is the only one I wear.A length shot
The fuzz after washing this evening

I kind of grown tired of the butters and gel concotions I have to go through to try to not have build up in locs but at the same time have some hold because my hair texture is more curly then kinky. So this evening I just put some olive oil on my hands and applied in random sections at the roots and massaged it in. Then I took some more and massaged it through out the length of my hair. For twisting I just sprayed a section with diluted LottaBody Setting lotion, twist, and clip. For the front section I put a tiny tiny tiny bit of the distortion creme gel for a little more hold.
The After
I usually do not take my clips out until morning....yup I've learned to sleep them. I can't remember when I last did a full retwist. I think it was way before Christmas so I was overdue.
Well that is it for the evening. Of to go do some oil cleansing :D

Aspirin Mask

This post will be about my experience with the much talked about aspirin mask. I had seen someone talking about it on youtube, I think snowkei's blog also had a aspirin mask post, Makeup alley and Acne.org also had reviews on it, so of course I had to try it! I think I have issues! I mean at the time I did not have any pimples, but my skin use to be soooooooooooo bad in the past that I just want a lot of stuff in my arsenal just in case I guess.

Now I have never taken aspirin internally in my life. My mother was big on avoiding it due to the fear of reye's syndrome so like I said I never had it. Well I went on down to my local walmart and picked up a .97 bottle of aspirin, let a about 6 dissolve in plain water(I goofed and added more water than I should so I had to add more aspirin). I then applied it to my face like a scrub and let it dry. I experienced some tingling but I had read that others had the same reaction without a problem so I wasn't worried. After about 20 minutes I took it off and OMG my skin was so smooth feeling, but maybe 15 minutes later one hive bump popped up on my right check and left side of face close to my ear. Also a whitehead appeared on my nose. I also felt a lil dizzy but I hadn't eaten for the day so that could have been the cause. Now maybe a smarter person would have figured that maybe it was the mask but I can break out in hives so easily that I wrote it off as maybe a reaction to the alcohol I had the night before, and the pimple? Well maybe it was extracting the impurities and was only doing it's job. So I try it again two days later. Same process as before, however after about a hour this time my whole face seemed lumpy and my forehead had a million fine bumps on it and lumpy and itchy hives to boot. :(
Also at this time I had introduced the Pureluxe Calamine soap sample, the rose hydrosol, Honey HA serum and Camellia oil from Garden of Wisdom so I can't totally bash the aspirin because I am a spaz and had no business combining all those new things together, but with the dizziness I feel like it was more than likely the aspirin.
So my lesson has been learned about throwing too much stuff at your skin at once. Well actually no it hasn't cause I just jumped into slathering Olive oil and Castor oil on face (which I'm LOVING!! by the way) so I'm hard headed but hey at least I got my blog girls to share the experiments with :D

Sickness is Ugly!

The hair needs to be done!

But I have survived!
This picture was taken after washing my face with castor oil and olive oil by the way but more on that below. It's glowey isn't it?
Anywhoo I've been though a lot of various sickness this week. I've broken out in hives on my face, think I had a stomach virus, sinus infection maybe, the flu maybe, some kind of reaction that made me break out on my arms (maybe stress), a cough at times, and a sore throat at times. BLAH!
I got to take the girls somewhere but I will be back to get into the details.

NYX Stuff

Swatches without a base
When your look at the pot Redhead looks a lot like MAC Sushi Flower but you can see the difference in the swatches.

Round Lipsticks
Doll is a nice easy red color to ease into if you are not use to red. My favorite is Frappucino which is a nice pink. Maybe what I would like MAC Poise to be for me or maybe a darker skin friendly Sandy B. Cocoa is a very neutral sort of. It just darkens my natural lip color a notch and I'm not too sure if its a pretty notch yet. : D Indian pink is a shimmery coral which usually look very orange and unwearable on me but this one isn't bad. I think the others I have tried were more matte so the simmer seems to help.

Northwest Orca Soaps

Northwest Orca Soaps
From L to R if the print isn't clear:
D-Licious Calamine Soap
Shaving Soap
Lavender Goat
Teen Neem Complexion Bar
Emu Among the Roses
Luxury Sea Salt Soap

Haven't got to use 'em yet but just thought I would share how big the samples are for only a dollar a piece. They also have a eye cream that I got a sample of and I am eyeing their papaya mask when I get more dinero

Olive Oil & Castor Oil

So today I decided to wash my face with olive oil and castor oil mix. I had read about cleansing oils on Christiana's blog and then I found this link. Of course I was itching to try it. Even after whelping up and breaking out because of either trying too much shit at one time or a reaction to aspirin, I still had to do it.
Results:
I like it. It left my face tight like I had washed and toned my face but still smooth and not dry looking. From the reading that I done that is probably the castor oil as that is suppose to be the one that pulls out the impurities. I didn't really measure but I think I poured a little more castor oil into my hand than olive oil. I also just put a hot wash coth on my face for a moment like they do when you are getting a facial, and then re dipped the washcloth in the hot water and gently took of the oil.
My friend came by to see me and she was like WOW! you look better! and I was like all I did was wash my face with oil!
So I think this will be my first inclusion for the week at my attempt at a more natural face routine.

EveryDay Minerals Wipes

I heard these talked about in the comments of I think in Vanessa's blog so here is a comparison of the size. I have only used them once cause I haven't been putting on full face makeup these days, but they smell very nice, biodegradable and flushable. Can't do that with a baby wipe! Well maybe you can now but you couldn't when my girls were in diapers :D

Ohhhh NO I've Been Bitten!!!

Is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen on a lipgloss! All along I've been playing it cool, but this right here is the shit for the packaging alone!
Pic from Specktra

Small Update

I feel a lil bit like crap today. Nothing major, just if you combine blah and eck and you get bleck which describes me pretty well. Anywhoo some stuff came in today and before that I didn't update you on so here it goes.

4 Silk Natural Lip Creams in Sublime, Bliss, Classic, and Indulge, and 2 Glosses in Cordial and Birthday Suit

I can't believe they are here already. My lips look like a desert right now cause I was just laying in bed and I forgot to put something on them after I washed my face so I will not bother to waste them right now trying them on because it will just be flake city. I can do a swatch of them later if you want, just let me know but I think Christiana has swatched or worn all of these and a couple more in her FOTDs.
Sample of Calamine Soap from Pureluxe

I like this stuff. It has an interesting smell that I like but can't really describe, I haven't personally smelled calamine lotion to say if it smells like that. Heres the hype from Pureluxe
"This soap is excellent for troubled skin. Full of beneficial ingredients all designed to aid and soothe. Made with premium oils such Shea Butter and Emu Oil. Calamine powder (zinc oxide & iron oxide) for its soothing effect, chamomile and hibiscus for soothing anti-inflammatory properties and mild astringency, rose geranium essential oil to help balance sebum and to keep skin supple. Tea tree essential oil for its anti-bacterial and anti-acneic effects, and chamomile essential oil to help soothe irritated skin. " Christiana told me that Northwest Orca makes the soap for Pureluxe so I will order it from the source next time but it is a treat to get to sample some of their stuff early since my soap sample order has not come yet.

Pureluxe Silk Powder & Eraser

I haven't tried these yet but here is the yadda yadda yadda from from the website.
"Silk Powder is 100% REAL, all natural silk powder. Perfect primer for those looking for 1 ingredient items. Contains 18 amino acids for healthy skin. Will adjust to your personal skin type. Natural UV protector."
Eraser
- "Have you ever wished for a "magical" product that would erase large pores, "experience" lines, and leave your skin feeling like silk? WISH NO MORE! After months of formulating, I have captured magic in a jar! This gel/cream base acts like a soft-focus diffuser. Think of "Glamour Shots" in a jar! ERASER will soften the look of lines, large pores, and produce an all-over effect of perfect skin. This product applies like a creamy gel, then instantly dries to a soft, silky powder. You have never felt anything so luxurious! I promise, one try, and you WILL be hooked! Lightly shaded."

Sounds like a lot of hype doesn't it? We shall see what it does.

Pureluxe Face Brush
This is CRAP!! I will probably use on my feet or something because the bristles are just to hard and have no give to them.

Face Brush from Coastal Scents
Get one of these like NOW! I absolutely love this brush from costalscents. I think I've had it for a week now. I think I have also seen them on amazon too but coastalscents is cheaper. The bristles are firm but they have so much give to them. My face seems so glowly since using this brush and I think it is helping the blackheads on my chin. So..........GET IT! GET IT! GET IT! :D

I also got my stuff from Garden of Wisdom and am in the process of putting together my routine so I will post that once I have it nailed.

Gemme Some Mo.....

Online Shopping that is!

So here is what I ordered today.
From Silk Naturals

1 x Sublime- Peach Lipstick $6.45
1 x Indulge- Nude Pink Lipstick- Clone of BB's Brownie Pink $6.45
1 x Classic- Matte Red lipstick $6.45
1 x Cordial Shimmering Nude Pink $3.92
1 x Bliss- Gorgeous Nude Lipstick (BB- Brownie clone) $6.45
1 x Birthday Suit- The Ultimate Nude Lippie $3.92
Then I went over to BestBeautyOnline and brought some Milani Stuff. It's a lot and they only thing I can remember off hand is the denim quad, like three liners, some single eyeshadows, and some of their matte lipsticks (still trying to get over my mattene incident)
I also went to nonpareil boutique and got a bunch of nyx eyeshadows and lipsticks.
Once I decide on my buff'd foundation color I want a full size of that and my Garden of Wisdom order was shipped on the 31st so I should be seeing that stuff shortly, so I may order bigger sizes of what I like, then when Northwest Orca contacts me about the soaps, I should be done with my shopping. :D
I'm suppose to go out with my dad tomorrow! I'm so excited! I've already got my look picked out and will do a full face with the Buff'd minerals.
Tomorrow ladies <3

Buff'd Samples

Yay my Buff'd Samples came in today!!! The top one is Everyday Minerals in Medium Tan that I ordered a full size of. As you can see Medium Tan is very close to a caramel with a little bit of silk added . My initial impression is that if I was to order a full size it would be caramel but I will try a complete face tomorrow with it. I'm also noticing that you do not feel the Buff'd minerals on your face at all. The Silk Natural Foundation and the Barefaced Minerals all gave that slightly itchy heavy feel. Everyday minerals was better then those two, but this Buff'd foundation is really light feeling with full coverage to boot. I think I'm in love <3 ! We shall see tomorrow! I'll probably do a brush review tomorrow or if I get bored later this evening.

The Mascara Review

Hey Ladies,
Hope you guys had a peaceful new year! I stayed in the house and watch Ricky Smiley & Geico commercial clips from youtube. Pretty pathetic huh? Well at least I was laughing. So yesterday I went on a mascara haul. It wasn't suppose to be a "haul" but the first Walmart I went to did not have the Cover Girl Lash Blast or the L'oreal Telescopic I wanted, and I just had to leave with some mascara so I also picked out Maybelline's Lash Stylist and Intense XXL. I also took some did the two that I have been using recently which is UD Big Fatty and L'oreal Voluminous. I did a video review but it is 15 minutes long so I can't load it anywhere because even if I cut out some of the talking I know it will still be above the 100mb limit. For those that are experienced in Windows Movie maker do you compress your files or do you let the computer do it automatically? Maybe some tips on the settings?
Anywhoo on with the mascara I will start with my least liked ones first to leave you in suspense :P
Here is my plain ole eye:

#6 UD Big Fatty
For $18 dollars a pop it just doesn't do anything special that the other ones didn't do as you will soon see.#5 Mayballine's Lash Stylist
This is one of those comb like aplicators which I thought I would love because one of my issues with Voluminous is the clumping. It did seem to fill them out more than the Big Fatty but they results wasn't as dramatic as the other ones. On the instructions it says that you can build up with multiple coats so this one may go up in the ranks once I get the learning curve down.

3&4 is a Tie between Cover Girls Lash Blast
And Mayballine's Intense XXLI think they are pretty similar in the results. I guess they Lash Blast would win out in that you are getting the same results in one step instead of two. Now to Intense XXL credit it was easy to apply and did not clump surprisingly. I saw on pursebuzz where this stuff cost $15 and it was only the microfibers, you still had to apply a regular mascara on top. Now I saw the potential in it and for a second I wanted it (maybe I still want it :P )but her eyes looked dramatically thicker but a little on the clumpy side. So with the XXL I will try to see if I get more dramatic results if I try to consciously apply more of the microfibers.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

The first runner up is:
L'oreal Voluminous

Meaning the Winner is Miss Maryland!................ Ok I got carried away.

Telescopic!

Telescopic dramatically lengthened my lashes as you can see but I thought that my two favorite mascaras should go wonderfully together, but there is a learning curve to that as well. Voluminous over top of Telescopic was clump city for me but Telescopic over Voluminous was lovely. I'm looking hella bad today for some reason. I would be happy if I had the excuse that I was partying or something but whatever. So I don't have a face shot of these two together but I was playing around with the camera and got these nice side shots. I think they are kind of artistic.
So yeah I really like these two but the other ones where not to bad and you best believe I am not paying more than umm $8 dollars for mascara again. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Alright ladies gotta pick up my divas!
