Yeah I don't know what to call this one. It's a hair post and a skin post so yeah it's a mambo combo. First of all I would like to give a big Aloha to Lynne for doing a wonderful post on the oil cleansing method! Great job girl! I have really been researching this method to see all the positive and negative experiences. I once suffered with very congested dehydrated skin with a hella lot of pimples on my forehead and nose, but dryness in the forehead and cheeks. Don't believe me?

This was just this past summer.

This morning.
I never was very consistent with my skin routine, wasn't really drinking my water, and didn't moisturize at all. My best friend told me one day " I'm tired of your skin looking like that" (This is the same friend that said WoW after the olive oil cleanse). I'm always on youtube and I saw this
video where a girl recommended a cleanser and a toner with 2% salicylic acid and nadinola fade cream. So I use that twice a day for the past 4 months and I have gotten to where you have seen my skin, but I can't use this method forever. I haven't seen any change in my skin tone or color however I still feel that my skin is lacking something. From this routine the two things that I feel has really helped my skin is probably the consistency and the moisture. I have all of this stuff from Garden of Wisdom and my Northwest Orca Soap samples but now since doing the oil cleanse I almost don't feel like I need anything else. It has been recommended that you wash your face after doing an oil cleanse but my face feels so good and toned I don't feel like I need to do anything else but follow with a little bit of oil and water for moisture. It's is so funny because I was just lamenting to Christiana how I feel like I need to wash my face with soap twice a day, and here I go not sure of what I'm going do with all this soap I got! :D I'm still trying to figure it out. This morning I used olive oil only, with good results and I planned on doing the castor oil and olive oil this evening.
Possible routine:
AM
Spray face with distilled water and message with face brush or wash cloth
Pinapple Fruit MistImmortalle HA or
Honey HA serum mixed with distilled water and camellia oil
Lil bit of
base creamPM
Olive Oil/Castor Oil cleanse
On days whenI want to ex foliate (maybe 2 times a week) I would probably use the rest of my Muriad Papaya Enzyme mask and possible replace those with either the
Fruit Exfo Pads or the
Northwest Orca Papaya maskPinapple Fruit MistImmortalle HA or
Honey HA serum mixed with distilled water and camellia oil
Lil bit of
base creamStill working it out though. Hey Christiana do you see any place where I can put the
Takrai Lemongrass Cleanser in this routine? Oh how I love the smell of that stuff! I want to try to intigrate everything slowly though it is very hard for me to contain my excitement for this new routine.
Alright enough about the skin.....now the hair.

My only piece of loc jewelry...it's really a ear cuff. Well I have other regular loc jewelry but this is the only one I wear.

A length shot

The fuzz after washing this evening

I kind of grown tired of the butters and gel concotions I have to go through to try to not have build up in locs but at the same time have some hold because my hair texture is more curly then kinky. So this evening I just put some olive oil on my hands and applied in random sections at the roots and massaged it in. Then I took some more and massaged it through out the length of my hair. For twisting I just sprayed a section with diluted LottaBody Setting lotion, twist, and clip. For the front section I put a tiny tiny tiny bit of the
distortion creme gel for a little more hold.

The After
I usually do not take my clips out until morning....yup I've learned to sleep them. I can't remember when I last did a full retwist. I think it was way before Christmas so I was overdue.
Well that is it for the evening. Of to go do some oil cleansing :D
