It is the nyame nti symbol which means "by God" (Since God exists)or having faith and trust in Gods blessings. Depicts leaves on its stalk. Prov. "Nyame Nti, menwe wura.' (Since God exists, I will not feed on leaves.)
This sucka was an experience. I can't say it was painful, it was mainly a weird vibration pressure that made me feel like my brain was shaking and its still kinda feeling like that now LOL
I had some ideas for some more ink this morning but after feeling this bad boy I don't know when I will get more. I need to get something on the left side of my body. All four of my currant tattoos are on the right side.

I love it! I have 4 tatts now, but I think it will be a while before I add the next 3 that I want!
I think it's beautiful but it looked like it hurt somethin' serious. The pain doesn't matter, uh? I feel that way every time I gaze down at my Gye Nyame. I'm still trying to think of what to get for my fourth. I love ink!
Very Pretty!!! I want another tat! but I promised myself that my next one would have a meaning. My mom has been researching the Nyame symbols for a while and now that she has seen yours she is ready to get her tat. She told me to tell you thank you. lol
Cute!!!
Wow! So pretty yet small
I am so scared of pain. You’re so courageous.
I love the meaning behind this tattoo...
very pretty. i love ink. i like the meaning behind it
beautiful shawnta! i was looking at those symbols for inspiration and at some point soon i and kidyum's dad were supposed to get some ink for him. i'm about to just go ahead and get mine.. the heart one on my wrist! =p
Peace Shawnta. I have to say that getting a tatto that has a meaning behind it is an awesome thing. I have a butterfly on my foot. Yeah it hurt, but there is alot of meaning behind it. I have also been looking at the sankofa symbols as well. Knowledge is power!!!
OUCH! But it sure is cool. Me likes.
I love it! Kudos to you for getting it behind your ear . . . I think I'm too scared to do that, lol.
Don't worry, when you're 90 and your grand (or maybe even great grand) children say "Grandma what's that behind your ear?" you'll be able to tell them how important and symbolic it is instead of saying "I loooove Mickey Mouse!" (no offense to mickey or mickey lovers).
Hey, I'm in bmore too, where did you get that tat? Not many people in the area will tatoo that part of the body.
